Chicago Monthly Magazine spoke exclusively to Max Azira about his new spring 2012 collection and here’s what he had to say -

What was your inspiration for the spring 2012 collection?

Spring 2012 was inspired by fluid silhouettes and weightless fabrics which reflect the fresh energy of the season. Confident, saturated brights with neutral accents reflect an urban, global spirit. The elongated proportions and sporty touches lend an element of active glamour and effortless elegance, while tribal accessories portray a modern, worldly sensibility.

How do you want women in Chicago to feel wearing your new collection?

The focus has always been to make women look and feel fabulous while keeping the process of getting dressed effortless. Wear your clothes with confidence and you’ll look good for any occasion.

What is your number one fashion don’t for the upcoming Spring 2012 season?

Fashion is all about looking good and feeling beautiful, so it’s necessary to choose styles based on what looks good on you, rather than what’s trendy at the moment.

Every season you are always re-inventing yourself with a fresh new look, how do you manage to always create new styles?

We’ve seen our woman grow up and become more sophisticated and daring, she is much more willing to take chances with her style and that same philosophy has been reflected in our collections.

You create fashion for all seasons but what is your favorite season of fashion to create?

We design our collections to make an easy transition from one season to another. Long sleeve silk or chiffon dresses look incredibly chic on summer nights and can be layered with a paper thin turtleneck for cooler fall weather.

What has been your best past experience in Chicago?

I love Chicago deep dish pizza and the energy of the city in general.

How would define Chicago’s fashion compared to other cities in the world?

Chicago women do it all and need chic, easy options that match their fast-paced lifestyles. Layering is key – a lightweight crew or turtleneck can winterize your wardrobe. Put them under dresses and blouses for a practical yet stylish wardrobe solution.
